The Divine Liturgy MP3 Page
Here is a recording of the "Flint" Divine Liturgy. This liturgy was developed for the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Flint, Michigan, who's priest requested a simple liturgy for the choir with more chant elements. The result is a liturgy in both Greek and English that employs Plagal First, Plagal Second, and Plagal Fourth chant in the main hymns, while the traditionally Second Tone hymns are set in simple three-part harmony with melodic thirds and an ison. Many of the hymns in this liturgy can also be found in the Plagal Fourth and Plagal First liturgies. The recording was done with four amateur singers, three female and one male, and is similar to a choir one might find in a small church.
